ישראל מוסיפה 1,500 פצועים בחודש לשיקום. המרפאות מלאות.
אגף השיקום במשרד הביטחון — הזרוע הממשלתית שמממנת את הטיפול ארוך-הטווח בחיילים ובפצועי צה"ל — מטפל היום ב-82,400 איש. כ-22,000 מהם נכנסו לטיפול אחרי 7 באוקטובר 2023, ועוד כ-1,500 בקשות חדשות מגיעות מדי חודש. תחזית האגף עצמו: 100,000 מטופלים עד 2028, מחציתם נפגעי נפש. התקציב קפץ ב-53% ל-8.3 מיליארד שקלים (כ-2.2 מיליארד דולר). מה שלא גדל באותו קצב הוא הקיבולת הפיזית: מיטות שיקום, חדרי פיזיותרפיה, בריכות הידרותרפיה (בריכות מים חמים לשיקום), מערכות הליכה רובוטיות וחדרי ריפוי בעיסוק. בישראל 0.3 מיטות שיקום לכל 1,000 נפש, מול ממוצע OECD של 0.5.
01 הכאב
אחות שיקום בבית החולים השיקומי לוינשטיין ברעננה (מצפון לתל אביב), המרכז השיקומי הגדול בארץ, מסתכלת על רשימת המתנה שלא מתקצרת. אחרי 7 באוקטובר 2023 לוינשטיין פתח מרכז חדש בן 14 מיטות בבית החולים בילינסון וסיפק לו את הצוות והציוד; שיבא הוסיף 86 מיטות ל-140 הקיימות במהלך הסבה של שלושה ימים בקומה גריאטרית. ועדיין, ב-18 באוקטובר 2023 רק 150 מתוך 780 מיטות השיקום בארץ עמדו פנויות.1
אגף השיקום במשרד הביטחון מטפל היום ב-82,400 חיילים ופצועים, ו-1,500 בקשות חדשות מגיעות מדי חודש. כ-22,000 מהם נכנסו לטיפול לאחר 7 באוקטובר 2023, והאגף צופה 100,000 מטופלים עד 2028. התקציב קפץ ב-53% ל-8.3 מיליארד שקלים (כ-2.2 מיליארד דולר), מחציתו לטיפולי נפש. 1,061 מהפצועים הם קטועי גפה (88 מהמלחמה הזו), ו-873 מרותקים לכיסא גלגלים (132 מהמלחמה הזו).2
כסף קונה כוח אדם ותוכנה מהר יותר משהוא קונה מבנים. בריכת הידרותרפיה דורשת רצפה נושאת ומערכת מים ב-32 מעלות. מערכת הליכה רובוטית מסוג Hocoma Lokomat (הליכון שוויצרי עם תמיכת משקל גוף לחולי שבץ ופגיעות חוט שדרה) דורשת חדר עם גובה תקרה מתאים וצוות מאומן של שני אנשים. הביקוש השולי נוחת היום על מרפאות פרטיות שעובדות מול אגף השיקום בהתקשרות לפי טיפול. עדיין אין מפעיל מסחרי שבנה רשת ארצית של מרפאות כאלה.34
